Meet ELECTRA experts for in depth discussions on the ELECTRA Web-of-Cells control concepts at the upcoming CIRED 2017 in Glasgow
The ELECTRA project team kindly invite you, and, in particular, grid stakeholders to meet and visit us at CIRED 2017. Namely Luciano Martini, project coordinator, is convenor of a round table on "Innovative Grid Architectures and Control Strategies for 2030+ Power Systems" which will be held on Wednesday 14 June at 11:00 hrs in the room Boisdale. The round table will have contributors from across Europe and, owing to the importance and appeal of this topic, a live discussion with the audience will be promoted.
Moreover don't miss to visit the ELECTRA IRP & ERIGrid project joint boot in the exhibition area.
ELECTRA team at the First Smart Grids Mission Innovation Workshop
The Second Mission Innovation Ministerial will be held on 6–8 June 2017 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. This annual meeting of energy ministers and other high-level delegates from the Mission Innovation (MI) members—22 countries and the European Union—will provide an opportunity to leverage high-level political will and private-sector leadership to drive ambitious, real-world clean energy policies and actions. Among side events, ELECTRA team has actively contributed to the organization of the "First MI Smart Grids Innovation Workshop".
ELECTRA Use Cases for the Web-Of-Cells concept validation
In the past year, ELECTRA finalized the detailed definition of 6 main Use Cases which are part of the overall ELECTRA Web-of-Cells concept. The use cases are namely Inertia Response Power Control (IRPC), Frequency Containment Control (FCC), Balance Restoration Control (BRC), Balance Steering Control (BSC), Primary Voltage Control (PVC) and Post Primary Voltage Control (PPVC).
For each Use Case detailed control functions are developed and implemented, as well as simulated. Main objective and challenge in the final year is to further consolidate the concepts and to perform lab-scale testing and validation of the ELECTRA use cases, their combinations and all related control functions. The attached WP7 fact sheets provide an overview of simulations and lab-scale experiments to be performed.
