Birmingham, 24^th - 25^th November 2016  

On 24th and 25th November 2016 the first EERA scientific conference was held in Birmingham (UK). The conference, organised in a plenary and parallel sections was a great opportunity to catch a cross-view of the main research topics that are going on inside the Joint Programs (JP). (find more here)

Niagara Falls, Canada, October 24^th-28^th, 2016  

ELECTRA actively contributed to the 7th International Conference on Integration of Renewable and Distributed Energy Resources (IRED 2016) as partnering organization. On October 24th a side event workshop "Testing and Research Infrastructure for Future Power Grids" was organized in cooperation with SIRFN - ISGAN. Moreover in the next days, ELECTRA people provided import contributions to Session 3 "Market & Regulatory Framework" and Session 5 "Standard and Evolution of Grid Codes for the Integration of Renewables and Distributed Resources." The Research Infrastructure Database, supported by ELECTRA and maintained by DERlab, received a complete revision of its structure and functionalities and also comes in a new design.
The database focuses on research infrastructure in the DER and smart grid field and presents laboratories, testing facilities and similar competencies, clustering all relevant information and the labs' profiles systematically. In total, more than 200 facilities from over 45 institutes – mainly from Europe and the US – can be found in the database. The extensive search options now also allow a full-text keyword search, ensuring you to find relevant entries efficiently.
